Colin Klein

Also known as Dr. Tofu. Colin Klein is in charge of food safety and quality at Northern Soy, ensuring the every product meets our high standards. Colin is one of the newer members of the Northern Soy team. He first started as an intern in 2015 and transitioned to a full time position in May of 2016 after graduating with a BS in Food Science from Cornell University. Colin also serves as the lead product developer, concocting new and delicious products.

Kareen Duncan

Kareen Duncan is one of our longest-term, versatile, and valued employees. She was born in Kingston, Jamaica and came to the US in 1991. She started working at Northern Soy in 1996 and quickly became one of the stars of our packaging department. Since she’s a quick study, Kareen learned to make excellent tofu and often does stints in our production areas. More recently Kareen works in the office with customer service, purchasing and trucking logistics. You can see she is truly a jack-of-all-trades! One of Kareen’s finest moments came in 2003 when she became an American citizen. We had a party at work in her honor and she posed with this American flag cake shortly before we all devoured it. Kareen lives in Rochester with her daughters Shanice, Dyonte and Kiki.

​Industrial Maintenance Mechanic

SoyBoy is looking for a versatile full-time Industrial Maintenance Mechanic with the following skill set:

  • Comprehensive three-phase industrial electrical wiring
  • Automatic control system setup and maintenance
  • Schematic and ladder diagram reading
  • Motors and motor controllers
  • Gearboxes, belt drives, bearings and misc. mechanical
  • Basic industrial plumbing (copper, black iron, stainless steel)
  • Light-duty welding

Office Administrator

SoyBoy is looking for an Office Administrator with the following skill set:

  • Strong computer skills with proficiency in Excel, capable of creating spreadsheets
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Good at clerical organization
  • Basic accounting skills
  • Able to communicate with people of various backgrounds

Job Responsibilities include:

  • Work with office team and owners of business
  • Manage aspects of keeping a business office running smoothly, maintaining files to comply with various regulations
  • Assist in the automation of business flow
